We are very proud to announce our partnership with a major UK sustainable energy producer in the supply of 600mm rotary valves for their state of the art biomass plant. This collaboration marks an important milestone in our internal commitments to expand into new and sustainable markets, seizing emerging opportunities.
The objective of the project was to develop a high-performance valve solution that could seamlessly replace various competitor valves within the customer’s existing infrastructure. Operating around the clock in a demanding environment tasked with processing wood pellets, the valves were required to demonstrate exceptional durability and reliability.
Rotolok’s innovative rotary valve features a tungsten carbide coated bore, end covers, and rotor journals – Ensuring an extended valve lifespan. Additionally, the heavy-duty rotor is engineered to withstand an ST2 explosion, providing an added layer of safety and security. To address the customer’s concerns stemming from previous supplier disappointments, Rotolok implemented a rigorous testing and inspection regime, ensuring the highest quality standards were met.
After months of collaborative effort, refining the valve specifications to align with the customer’s unique requirements, we have been awarded a prestigious 2-year framework agreement to supply 66 units with a range of spare parts. This framework not only presents immediate business opportunities but also holds the potential for extension and the inclusion of future valve projects.
The first batch of valves are nearing completion, having successfully passed the rigorous testing and inspection process with flying colours.
